Surgeons Pick Chicago as Site of Huge School
The administrative home of the American College of Surgeons was officially located in Chicago yesterday. Regents of the college, meeting at the Congress hotel, accepted as a gift from Chicago citizens a site and building at 40 East Erie street. The latter, built by S.M. Nickerson (now dead but for many years a leading banker), was for a generation one of the show residences of the city. The donors are citizens of Chicago.Back
