Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Driehaus Museum team. The Museum is a multi-faceted and growing institution staffed by a small but passionate team.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers play a vital role in allowing the Museum to create a warm, welcome and engaging atmosphere for our members and visitors.

Opportunities:

- Assist with welcoming guests to Driehaus Museum events and programs. Requires evening and weekend availability.

- Answer questions and interact with guests at our Weekend Welcome Desk. Requires weekend availability.

- Make Thank You and Welcome calls to new members and donors. Schedule is flexible.

- Assist Department heads with special projects as requested periodically.

The Museum asks that you commit to volunteering with the Museum a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Employment Opportunities:

Employees of The Richard H. Driehaus Museum advance the Museum’s educational mission by deepening visitors’ knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the historic architecture and design in the Gilded Age mansion of Chicago entrepreneur Samuel Mayo Nickerson.

Museum Store Keyholders
The Driehaus Museum is currently accepting applications for part-time Museum Store Keyholders to provide exceptional customer service to guests at the Museum’s Navy Pier location. Duties include, but aren’t limited to, overseeing opening and closing procedures, ensuring proper daily cash handling procedures, facilitate sales and transactions of merchandise, re-stocking and organizing the sales floor, and promoting the Driehaus Museum and its mission.

The ideal candidate is friendly and collaborative, with experience working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment. Additionally, candidates must have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with the public including tourists. We are seeking someone who is professional, able to assume responsibilities associated with this position, and passionate about art, history, architecture, and decorative arts. Part-time positions require a three day per week commitment, with one day a weekend day. Early mornings and evenings will be required.

Museum Store Associate
The Driehaus Museum is currently accepting applications for a part-time Museum Store Associate to provide exceptional customer service to guests at the Museum Store’s Navy Pier location. Duties include, but are not limited to facilitating sales and transactions of merchandise, re-stocking and organizing the sales floor, and promoting the Driehaus Museum and its mission. The ideal candidate is friendly and collaborative and has experience working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment. Additionally, candidates must have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with the public including tourists. We are seeking someone who is professional, able to assume responsibilities associated with this position, and enjoys learning. Part-time positions require a three day per week commitment up to a maximum of 28 hours per week with one day a weekend day with early mornings and late evenings.
