Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Starting June 1, tickets will only be available for advanced purchase two weeks in advance. Please click Reserve Tickets on this page and scroll down to “Reserve Tickets.”
Pending availability, you will be able to purchase general admission tickets when you arrive at the museum on the day of your visit.
Reservations and advance ticket purchase are currently required for our guided tours.
Which building at the corner of Wabash and Erie is the Driehaus Museum?
The Driehaus Museum is located on the northeast corner of Wabash and Erie. The building across the street on the southwest corner is not the museum.
What's going on at the Murphy Auditorium?
Starting this summer, the Murphy Auditorium will be renovated as part of the Driehaus Museum campus. There will be a pedestrian canopy in front of the Museum throughout this time. The Museum will be open, though hours are subject to change. For more information, click here.
What is your photography policy?
We welcome photography within the Museum for personal, non-commercial use only. The following rules apply:
- Your camera usage may not disrupt or pose a perceived danger to other guests, staff, or any objects within the Museum.
- Formal or large group photography with a professional photographer must be arranged in advance, please contact communications@driehausmuseum.org.
- Flash photography and video may not be used within the Museum.
- Tripods, microphones, and selfie sticks are not permitted without previous permission from Museum staff.
- When a special exhibition lender has prohibited photography and video of a specific object, this will be noted with signage.
- Commercial photography is subject to licensed agreement and must be approved and arranged through our administrative offices. Any unlicensed commercial usage is strictly prohibited. For more information, please email communications@driehausmuseum.org.

- Enhanced and frequent cleaning procedures and schedules are in place.
- Credit card only transactions are allowed at this time.
- Guest who feel sick prior to their admission time are asked to reschedule their visit.
Please note: Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public place where people are present. Despite all precautionary measures taken, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit. We are following protection measures as outlined by the CDC and the City of Chicago and ask that visitors do as well.
