Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
Tickets are available for advanced purchase two weeks in advance. Please visit this page and scroll down to “Reserve Tickets.”
Pending availability, you will be able to purchase general admission tickets when you arrive at the museum on the day of your visit.
Our public tours are available first come, first served and not available for purchase in advance. Reservations and advance ticket purchase are currently required for our private guided tours.
At this time, the Museum only accepts credit cards for payment.
Which building at the corner of Wabash and Erie is the Driehaus Museum?
The Driehaus Museum is located on the northeast corner of Wabash and Erie. it is comprised of two buildings, the 1883 Nickerson Mansion and the adjacent 1926 Murphy building. The Museum’s entrance is up the grand stairs at the Murphy at 50 E. Erie.
The building and garden across the street on the southwest corner are not the Museum.
Do you participate in Museums for All?
Yes. As part of the Museums for All program, the Driehaus Museum offers free admission to visitors with an EBT (LINK) or WIC card, for up to four guests per card. Learn more about the program at museums4all.org.
Can I rent out the Museum for private events?
We currently offer venue rentals of the Nickerson Mansion, Murphy Auditorium and other private spaces for receptions, meetings, and more.

What is your photography policy?
Guests are welcome to take photos within the Museum for personal, non-commercial use only. Camera usage may not disrupt or pose a perceived danger to other guests, staff, or any objects within the Museum.

Does the Driehaus Museum provide images for research, publication, or product use?

What are your health and safety measures?
Health and Safety Measures
- Enhanced and frequent cleaning procedures and schedules are in place.
- Credit card only transactions are allowed at this time.
- Guest who feel sick prior to their admission time are asked to reschedule their visit.
Please note: Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public place where people are present. Despite all precautionary measures taken, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit. We are following protection measures as outlined by the CDC and the City of Chicago and ask that visitors do as well.
Do you accept works of art, exhibition proposals, or manuscripts of any kind?
At this time, we are not able to accept unsolicited art, proposals, or manuscripts.
