In this workshop directed by Materialities exhibiting artist, Bobbi Meier, you’ll visit the artist’s work in the Driehaus Museum and then move to our studio for a hands-on workshop to Create Your Own Plushie. Craft a unique soft sculpture using pantyhose, fiberfill, needle, and thread. Relax, stitch, and bring your plushie to life in this fun, hands-on experience!
Basic hand-sewing techniques will be helpful. All materials supplied.

About the Artist:
Bobbi Meier is a Chicago-based multimedia artist. Known primarily for her provocative, fiber-based abstract sculptures, she challenges boundaries between public and private, exploring themes of proper manners and repressed sexuality in her work. She earned both her MAAE and MFA degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was awarded a Kohler Arts/Industry residency in 2019.
