This exclusive Members Only bus tour offers a sampling of the sites included in the Driehaus Museum’s Chicago’s Tiffany Trail. Louis Comfort Tiffany’s success at the Chicago 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition led to a number of ecclesiastical commissions around the city and a shift in his studio’s focus to respond to the growing demand for a new American religious expression through art. Historian Rolf Achilles will offer insight on the magnificent works of Louis Comfort Tiffany that call Chicago home and explore the cultural significance and technical brilliance of the sacred works of Tiffany and his studio.
The tour will begin and end at the Driehaus Museum; lunch is included. We invite the group to stay until 2:30 p.m. for an extra surprise we are planning for the end of the tour just for our members.
Rolf Achilles is an art and architecture historian with a special interest in Chicago and its stained glass. Rolf was the founding curator of the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows at Navy Pier and the curator of the current installation of windows in the Macy’s Pedway. He is also an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass, London, England, was awarded Freedom of the City of London in 2013 and received the German-American Friendship Award, 2017. Rolf lectures internationally and is widely published on several platforms

Tickets are fully refundable up to 10 days prior to the event, 50% refundable up to 72 hours prior to the event and non-refundable less than 72 hours prior to the event.
