Tiffany Lamps: Beyond the Shade Member Opening Program and Reception

Thursday, September 11, 2025, 2025

From the 1890s to the 1920s, Tiffany Studios created a captivating array of decorative lighting fixtures. To achieve founder Louis C. Tiffany’s vast artistic vision and bring lighting designs to life, artisans at the Studios used a range of materials – including bronze, enamel, pottery, and glass. Tiffany Lamps: Beyond the Shade explores this exciting aspect of Tiffany Studios’ history and encourages visitors to see Tiffany’s beloved lamps in a new light.

Enjoy a special conversation between Executive Director Lisa M. Key and guest curator Alexandra Ruggiero. Together, they will delve into the artistry and innovation behind Tiffany Studios’ iconic lighting designs, created between the 1890s and 1920s. Highlighting the Studio’s masterful use of materials, the discussion will illuminate how these works brought Louis C. Tiffany’s creative vision to life and reveal how Tiffany Lamps: Beyond the Shade invites us to see these masterpieces anew.

Join us for the Member Opening program and reception to celebrate this illuminating exhibition.
